The Light House Cinema, Dublin was full of famous faces last night, for the Irish premiere of the eagerly anticipated Fifty Shades Darker.

Guests were the first to see the film in the country, as it only officially opens to the public today, February 10th. The lucky attendees were also treated to a masquerade themed drink and canapé reception upon arrival.

Some of the famous faces in attendance included; Dancing with the Stars professional dancers Kai Widdrington and Giulia Dotta and First Dates Ireland stars Paddy Murphy and Lauren Dempsey.

Also in attendance were Xposé presenter Glenda Gilson, Irish model Alison Canavan, Fair City actress Jenny Dixon, RTÉ 2fm host Bláthnaid Treacy and face of Cocoa Brown Tan Niamh Cullen.

Online sensations James Kavanagh, Paddy Smyth, Grace Mongey and Celebrity Master Chef contestant Samantha Mumba were also among the first to see the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey.

Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015’s blockbuster film that grossed more than $560 million globally, the new instalment opens to the general public today and invites you to slip into something a shade darker.

The sequel shows a wounded Christian Grey trying to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, but she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance.  As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

This movie would make for the perfect Valentine’s Day date!
